Last week I was having a heated conversation with someone about if we can affect Hashem or not. I referenced Avraham Fried’s song Tanya in which Hashem asks the Kohen Gadol for a bracha. After the conversation ended I wanted to understand the concept even more deeply so I sat down with Rabbi Friedman (Avraham Fried’s brother) for more insight.

Hopefully this experiment will be the beginning of a new series called “On A Higher Note” in which we will be breaking down various Jewish songs and explaining their deeper meanings.
